VEGAN RECIPE CONTEST AND GIVEAWAY!!! Non vegans are welcome too :)


Calling all creative foodies!

This month, The Vegan Nigerian and Anemistyle are teaming up to bring you our very first Vegan Recipe Contest. The rules are simple and fantastic prizes are up for grabs. We want to see the unusual and we want to see the innovative. The most creative interpretations will get the highest points. Whether you’re familiar with vegan cooking or not, we want to hear from you. Simply take the key ingredient – BEANS – and rustle us two dishes: one sweet and one savoury. Send us the pictures and recipes, along with your name and country. We’ll pick a winner on the 30th September and ship a bundle of goodies to your doorstep!

    2. I am thinking of entering. I'm a very good cook and I make things up out of my head all of the time; but beans + sweet + savory I am going to have to think about. I mean, a lot of bean dishes have a dash of sweetness in them to create balance but I that doesn't make them "sweet". For example the classic Boston Baked Beans, which is easy to create vegan style, has brown sugar in it. Still, that is not a "sweet" dish. Or am I getting hung up on semantics here? Also, by beans, can they be green beans or only dried beans?

    3. Ha, for a sweet dish a dessert made from beans might be interesting. The key ingredient is any dry beans( Fava, kidney, black eyed peas, black beans, pinto beans) you can also use bean flour and use other complementary ingredients as long as the bean is the primary ingredient.
