WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ACHIEVE YOUR WEIGHT LOSS GOAL?

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying 2016 and you haven't given up on your NewYear resolutions/goal. The most common goal is to lose weight and for many years my sister and I made the same weight loss resolution and forget we even made it in two weeks times after failing on another fad diet. Over the years the weight finally came off after we discovered what worked for our bodies and today we've achieved our weight loss goals after taking different paths.

From the first day of a new year TV, radios, magazines and every mainstream media outlet are out there trying to sell you the 'answer' to your weight loss goal, from diet books to gym members or supplements that promise to help you lose the weight for good. The truth about weight loss that no one wants to tell you because there is no money to be made is that CALORIES IN must be less than CALORIES OUT - eat more than your body needs and you will gain weight, eat less than your body needs and you will lose weight.

All diets and exercise programs try to achieve this directly or indirectly. For instance, Atkins diets works by putting you in Ketosis which eventually reduces your appetite and depletes your glycogen stores so you eat less and hold less water. 5:2 diet works by creating a caloric deficit on your fasting days which leads to weight loss. All diets do this by some form of food elimination and it all leads to eating fewer calories at the end of the day.

So what is the best way to lose weight?

The best way is unique to every individual and it has to do with discovering the most sustainable and enjoyable way to exercise and eat at a caloric deficit long term. If you don't see yourself being on the diet in 6 months time and after you've reached your goal weight then it is not for you. If you love fatty salty foods like bacon and chicken wings, a lower carb diet might be for you, if you can't live without your carbs then maybe a vegetarian and low-fat diet might work better for you. The key is to be in tune with your body and do what your body responds to the most without driving you insane.

However, the most important thing you need to do to lose the weight for good is to - IDENTIFY the habits that caused you to gain weight. I've had friends that say they don't eat much but gain weight and the truth is that is impossible and oxygen does not turn into fat in your body.  Some common habits that cause weight gain are;

  1. Binge Eating/ Overeating
  2. Lack of portion control
  3. Mindless Snacking
  4. Eating out a lot
  5. Nutritional ignorance
  6. Emotional eating

If you discover what caused the weight gain and you break it, weight loss will happen naturally without any fad diets and metabolic damage as a result of dieting. I hope this helps you and takes you a step further towards your weight loss goals.

  1. One of the most effective thing to try with weight loss is zumba. Zumba is both a dance class and a fitness class. Aside from its heart-health benefits, Zumba provides a workout for the whole body. From head and shoulder rolls that loosen up the neck and warm up the upper body, to footwork that strengthens and stretches calves and ankles, this fitness method touches on nearly every muscle and joint. Even those who are just learning the dance steps will find themselves waking up the day after a Zumba class with a definitive post-workout feeling.There is zumba classes near forest lodge. I have seen many times over there. I should not waste time of not going that.

  2. Cardio is often included in weight loss exercise programs because trainers want you to maintain your heart rate at an exercise level. check out the post right here

  3. It is important to exercise daily to encourage weight loss. Tracking your weight loss to record benchmarks reached will also give you a better sense of where you stand in terms of reaching your weight goal.
